Schoodic International Sculpture SymposiumThis year the Schoodic Arts Festival will feature workshops and performances by nationally and known sculptors to complement the Schoodic International Sculpture Symposium. Schoodic Arts for All is the artistic sponsor of the symposium. We hope you will be able to see some of these sculptors at work. The symposium is a new biennial cultural event that will bring together artists, visitors, and communities for a common goal-sculpture for the public. This gathering of sculptors is a fun and educational way to see how large sculpture is made from one of Maine's natural resources- granite. The Symposium will run 6-weeks with programs open to the public throughout the event. Seven artists from Maine, the United States, and other countries will be featured. Their sculptures will go to communities in Hancock and Washington counties in Down East Maine. More information about the Symposium can be found here. Art ShowView works of fine art and fine crafts- including Sculpture, Painting, Hand-woven Fiber Art, Blown Glass, Handcrafted Jewelry Design, Photography and more! The Art Show will be held on Saturday, August 9 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Hammond Hall in Winter Harbor . |
